Rainy Day Music

End Mileage in Somerset: 80365 (74 Miles)

So we backtracked to Wisconsin to stay with our new friend HeidiJ who just happened to have a cabin a few miles from River’s Edge, the location of the Jack Johnson concert. It was a very scenic drive into the depths of Wisconsin and the cabin was situated on a cute little lake. We had just enough time to take the pontoon boat out before we had to head to the show. We decided to revert back to our MUCH younger days and ignore the severe weather and tornado warnings. We threw on our rain gear and headed to the show. Just as we got there it started to drizzle, and then rain and then DOWNPOUR! We stood in the POURING rain for an hour just waiting for the show to begin. It lasted for about 3 hours after that at which point we were soaked! It was fun all the same! Apparently we’ll do anything to see Jack Johnson…drive 1500 miles and stand in the rain for 4 hours! Needless to say the hot shower afterward and the comfort of the cabin was just what the doctor ordered.

We have to say the bed in Heidi’s cabin might have been the most comfortable bed so far. We rose bright and early for our big trip through South Dakota…which was our longest leg so far.
